Command/P

If it were only that easy… Designing for print is not what it used to be. A typical project is now a critically executed construction merging multiple imaging processes onto a variety of materials, all finished in a highly complex fashion. Today’s designers must embrace a new paradigm of collaboration with their vendors.

This seminar series offers a deep, detailed examination of how to get the best production results in any project, from the first conceptual stage through cost negotiation to overseeing the finishing details. We will show, share and tear into lots of beautiful samples. The sessions will be informal and wildly interactive, with hearty encouragement of questions and dialogue.

Independently, Noel Tocci and Angela Long possess a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise in Print and Graphic Design respectively. As a team, their partnership on projects creates a powerful synergy resulting in print production solutions and ideas that are efficient and cost effective without sacrificing creativity. Angela and Noel can offer analysis, recommendations and plans for effective implementation from initiation of a project through delivery.

Noel Tocci
Noel Tocci has been involved in the printing industry since 1980. In these 27+ years he has consulted on and produced high-end sheetfed and web offset lithography for the most critical and discerning clients in their markets. From pre-press to finishing and fulfillment, Noel has an excellent understanding of all aspects of the print process, including digital technology, color analysis and specialty techniques. In addition, valued paper industry ties and relationships make him extremely knowledgeable and valuable in regard to the integral role that paper and other substrates play in the process.

As an adjunct professor within NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Noel has taught “Printing Processes, Paper and Print Production for Graphic Designers”. He has also guest lectured at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Noel has been a strong advocate and friend to the New York Design Community as an AIGA/NY Season Partner since 1997.

Angela Long
Angela Long has been connected to, and involved in, the NYC design community for over 13 years. She spent over seven years managing two separate design firms and six years in hands-on design and art direction positions. This experience allows Angela to communicate clearly and effectively with our clients and help bridge the gap between the design and printing processes.

Angela has taught “Printing Processes, Paper and Print Production for Graphic Designers” at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and has guest lectured at industry events on the topic of project management.
